KOLKATTA CURRY

Hi friends!!!
Have you been to kolkatta ever??? I guess very few of us have been to The City Of Joy. Well as the vacations are coming to its end I want to share some of my experiences with you about the city from which I hail. In this poem I have used the dialects of English, Hindi and Bengali.

The Kolkatta Curry

Kolkatta kolkatta, don’t worry kolkatta Hum Hai tumahre kolkatta.
-Some lines by Usha Uthup (Singer)

Blessing Ganges,
Structured Hugli
Curvy tracks
And bumpy roads.
Too much log
And so much cars,
Crowdie trams
And speedy metros.
Reddish buildings
And whitish cops.
Muh me paan
Kandhon pe saman.
Ankhon me tension
Zubaan pe pyaar.
Countless lakes
And towering scrapers.
Aroma of culture
And scent of joy.
Bargad ke pedo
Se jhukti lataye,
Woh puja ki gargrahat
Se maa ke naina.
From Sourav’s drives,
To Pranab’s defence
Speeding through
The VIP fence.
Lal banarasi se
Boot-cut tak.

Rosogollar Mishti niye, Aeita amar Bangla sonar Bangla…..
